A fuse is an element or device that protects an electrical circuit by breaking the circuit. Fuses are used to prevent overload on the line causing fire and explosion. So how to check and replace the car fuse when there is a problem?
How to check the car fuse?
Method 1: Remove each fuse and check by observation, this method requires the tester to be qualified and knowledgeable about the car.
Method 2: Usually people use equipment that supports checking and observing signal lights, this is very effective and quite simple, very easy to do. You need to prepare a test tool called a circuit test light. Turn the car lock to the “ON” position but do not start the vehicle.
Next, put the probe of the circuit test light into positions such as the junction pin with the circuit board, the seat of the connecting bolts. Then gently insert the probe into the working positions on either side of the top of the fuse.
If the test lights are on in both positions, it means the fuse is fine and working properly. If either of the above, the check light does not come on, it means that the fuse has blown and needs to be replaced. Check all the remaining fuses in turn, if there is no replacement, you should mark it for replacement later.
How to replace the fuse?
Step 1: Look for the fuse box, usually the fuse box is under the left panel of the steering wheel
Step 2: Open the fuse box cover, find and locate the burned fuses.
Step 3: Remove the damaged fuse from the fuse panel with a clamp (note: the clamp is a plastic tweezer that comes with the fuse box, if your car has lost it, you can use small pliers with a long nose and sharp)
Step 4: Check the number below or next to the failed fuse because this number indicates the maximum amperage.
Step 5: Buy a fuse with the same amperage and use your finger to push it into the slot in the box.
